I believe that there is a need for a site devoted specifically to the question of Watchful Waiting - or as I prefer to term it Conservative Management of Prostate Cancer. This option is becoming one that men are considering more and more, yet it is very difficult to find a specific site that gives relevant information.

I was diagnosed as having prostate cancer in August of 1996, when I was 54 years of age. After examining my options I decided not to have conventional treatment.

Although my choice is clear and suits me, I am not attempting to convert anyone to my way of thinking on this site. I firmly believe that every man has the right to decide for himself which of the many treatment options suits him. But, because this site is specifically about Watchful Waiting/Conservative Management, there is nothing on the site about the conventional treatments. At present this site has the following sections - more will be added:

• Rationale: A discussion on the differences between Watchful Waiting and Conservative Management - still very much in the course of construction.

• Details of my PSA, including the experiment run with 28 consecutive daily tests to look for variance.
• Clippings: Bits and pieces of interest collected over the years - again very much in the course of construction.
